Tom Taffel's Abstract Expressionist Paintings

On January 27, 2020, I enrolled at San Francisco State University, in Professor Chris Finley’s advanced painting class:
“The Expanded Field  –  Finding Your Voice,”  ART 530  (Contemporary approaches and concern in painting practice).

This series of eight "Black & White & Yellow" paintings began as an exercise in simple design, form and color.   But these paintings
cried out for more complexity, detail and depth - resulting in what you now see.   The first seven paintings are oil paint on 16” x 20”
gallery canvases.   The last of the eight paintings is a 24” x 36” gallery canvas.
